About the Teacher

	JAMIE POPOWICH: Bachelor of Music Diploma of Fine Arts in Kodály Education

I have a BMus majoring in Elementary Education from the University of Calgary, as well as a DipFA in the Kodály Concept of Education. I have also completed my Introductory Orff Certification and regularly attend Kodály workshops to further my education. I am a member of the Alberta Kodály Association and serve on the board as treasurer. I teach music at a Calgary Montessori Preschool, designing and implementing their music curriculum. I was the director of the Mount Royal Children’s Choir, Arietta for 2 years and have created my own children’s choir, Cadence Children’s Choir. I have taken private piano and voice lessons and sung in various choirs, most recently the Calgary Philharmonic Chorus. I am married and have three boys, a seven-year-old, a five-year-old and a 2-year-old! I love music and love children!
